Information for International Players
Eight Open Events at the Norwegian Championships.
International players have a total of eight opportunities to compete alongside Norwegian players at the Norwegian Poker Championship 2026, held at Thon Congress Gardermoen. The open events run from Saturday September 26th to Wednesday September 30th.
The tournaments marked with the globe icon in the schedule are open to players from all countries, creating a unique chance to experience one of world’s biggest national poker festivals – up close. Whether you’re travelling from Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the rest of Europe, or beyond, you’ll be able to test your skills against the Norwegian poker community in a variety of formats.
International players are encouraged to pre-register before arriving to secure their seats. Players with international bank accounts can complete their buy-ins through pre-payment by bank transfer. Players from the Nordic countries also have the option of using Vipps at the venue, making registration quick and convenient.
Pre-registration is open and can be done in the portal Betzzi.
Hotel rooms are available at the player hotel Thon Hotel Oslo Airport.
The Open Events:
Saturday at 12:00 – NL Hold’em Open Nordic Championship (1 re-entry)
Buy-in: NOK 5,000
The international flagship event. This 2-day No Limit Hold’em tournament has always attracted a large field. This year the name has changed to become the Nordic Championship, and it is the perfect way to kick off your Norwegian poker experience. 388 entries in 2025.
Saturday at 19:00 – NL Hold’em Open Nordic Championship Turbo (1 re-entry)
Buy-in: NOK 2,500
Prefer faster action? Need a second-chance event? The Turbo edition delivers the same international atmosphere with shorter levels and plenty of excitement. Day 2 is played on Sunday. 466 entries in 2025.
Sunday at 14:00 – ROE Deuce-to-Seven (Mixed Limit)
Buy-in: NOK 2,500
This new event on the schedule mixes several betting structures, including Fixed Limit Triple Draw, Pot-Limit Double Draw and No-Limit Single Draw Deuce-to-Seven formats. A great choice for the mixed games crowd.
Sunday at 19:00 – Big Bet Mix
Buy-in: NOK 2,500
This event combines several big-bet poker variants into one tournament. Perfect for players looking for big bets and furious action. The event has 1 re-entry and runs over 2 days. 78 entries last year.
Monday at 18:00 – NL Hold’em Superturbo
Buy-in: NOK 1,500
The fastest tournament among the open events. Quick levels, fast-paced action, and a great value buy-in make this an excellent addition to any schedule. 484 players entered last year.
Monday at 19:00 – ROE PLO/NLH Bomb Pot
Buy-in: NOK 2,500
This is the first time the Norwegian Championship offers a Bomb pot tournament! This event combines Pot-Limit Omaha and No-Limit Hold’em in an action-packed format.
Tuesday at 15:00 – NL Hold’em One-Day Turbo
Buy-in: NOK 2,500
A single-day tournament designed for players who want a complete poker experience without committing multiple days. This is a highly popular tournament with a large field. 532 players participated in 2025.
Tuesday at 19:00 – PL Omaha Mystery Bounty
Buy-in: NOK 2,500
PLO meets the ever-popular Mystery Bounty format. Build a stack, make the money, and then start drawing for Mystery Bounty prizes on Day 2. 313 players participted last year and unfortunately a Swede won!
